LightTaxes was born from frustration. Our founders, Sarah and Michael, watched friends and family struggle with confusing tax software, overpay for simple filings, and miss out on deductions they deserved. They knew there had to be a better way.
In 2019, they set out to build a tax filing platform that was actually designed for real people - not accountants. One that used the latest technology to simplify the process while ensuring maximum accuracy and refunds.
